Pack lightly! Daufuskie is a relaxing casual place; you won't need a large assortment of clothing there. Rental properties have washers and dryers. The island water supply provides good clean clear water with no bad taste. There are two general stores on the island with basic food and drink supplies. Beer and spirits are available for purchase on island. If you discover you forgot something, we conduct "resupply" for our customers. Ask for details.
Susan Jones is a great rental agent for Daufuskie Island visits. People like her, and so do we. 843 384-4894 . Susan also has her own transit van for dock to house/condo and return.

If you rented from Susan Jones, great news! She handles all of the on-island transportation to and from the dock for her customers.
Otherwise, for ground transportation, we suggest you call Pat McLain at Daufuskie Life 843 805 9040.
The most common way to get around on Daufuskie is on a golf cart. Some rental lodgings include a cart, but not all. Be sure and ask about fueling/charging requirements, off-limit areas, and remember we drop off at the County Dock. You need to let the cart service know this.
Caroline owns Explore Daufuskie and has nice newer carts at 843-505-2341. Available at the County Dock.
Another good option is Daufuskie Life at 843-805-9040. Last option would be Mungeon Creek carts, at D'fuskie's. These gas carts must be filled up at the Freeport General Store before returning to D'fuskie's.
There are two small stores on the island with basic grocery supplies. One is at the County Dock where we drop you off, called "D'Fuskies." Check their website for hours. Another is at Freeport Marina. Groceries cost more on Daufuskie because getting them there is expensive. You can bring groceries with you on our boats, but please review baggage limitations/policy above. Groceries should be packed in totes or travel bags.
For shopping/packing/delivery of groceries to the boat call Lori the NautiButler at 912-358-7479. She can have your groceries ready for you to bring on the boat shuttle to Daufuskie.
There is a small liquor store on the island with limited hours in addition to a distillery with package sales. If you would like to bring your own alcohol, we recommend the Bull River Beverage Mart close to our departure marina at 7724 Johnny Mercer Blvd.
Daufuskie Island Distillery was established in 2013 offers seating beneath an open-air roof with view of a large pond. Sample the rums they produce including Kona, Fuskie Fire, Vanilla, Spiced, Gold, Silver, or Gold Reserve. They also make other spirits such as bourbon and also blueberry and original vodka. Ms. Beth (the Marshside Mama!) is now serving up delicious food at their deck! Check hours of operation.
Old Daufuskie Crab Company Restaurant offers surf-n-turf with local seafood as well as a variety of tropical cocktails and cold beer. Open pretty much every day. When all else fails go there. Check for hours. Watch out for the Scrap Iron! At Freeport Marina
Frye's Corner chicken stand. Open for lunch TH/FR/SA in season. Check for hours.
There is so much to do on Daufuskie Island including horseback riding, kayaking, standup paddleboard adventures, wildlife excursions, history, and art. Many people simply enjoy riding all over the island on a golf cart. There are many tours such as the Gullah tour by bus.
